ready-keep2018 Bourgogne Rouge, Domaine Jean Grivot

The fruit here all comes from around Vosne-Romanée, from both sides of the D974, enhanced by some lovely old vines (some of which are 70 years old). This wine’s a real overperformer in 2018 thanks to its deeper soils, which held more water and stayed cool in the warm, dry conditions. Sweet, crunchy, red-berry fruit combines perfectly with smoky oak and silky, creamy tannins. Drink 2021-2026.
