2005 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes: (this has a small proportion of the 1er Les Plantes included in the blend). A very fresh and relatively high-toned nose features both red and black pinot fruit and subtle spice notes, in particular clove, anise and cinnamon that can also be found on the rich, full and sweet flavors that are full of character and good depth if not necessarily much elegance. Still, there is energy and punch with ample finishing drive and impressive complexity on the backend. Very solid quality for a villages level wine and recommended. - Burghound
