2021 Berry Bros. & Rudd New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc by Isabel Estate
The 2021 vintage in New Zealand was of exceptional quality but very low quantity. So, we are delighted to have secured this wine, made for us by the inspiring Jeremy McKenzie of Isabel Estate. Refreshing green apple and ripe gooseberry dominate the nose. The palate is invigorating, with a lemon-sherbet zippiness and wet-pebble minerality. The wine has a wonderful cleansing purity about it, whilst a sea-salt twist lingers on the elegant finish.

2019 Berry Bros. & Rudd Mosel Riesling Kabinett by Selbach-Oster, Germany
This delectable Riesling is one of the most thirst-quenching wines that you could ever wish to taste. Made for us by the brilliant Johannes Selbach, it has fresh green apple and apricot aromas, lifted by the scent of meadow wildflowers. The flavours are invigorating, with bright apple freshness persisting alongside more tropical notes of kaffir lime leaves and a twist of white pepper. There’s a hint of sweetness on the otherwise palate-cleansing finish, making this a perfect match for Vietnamese dishes or a Gorgonzola salad.

2021 Berry Bros. & Rudd Argentinian Malbec by Pulenta, Mendoza
The talented team at Pulenta Estate always bring a sense of class to our Malbec, so we’re delighted to be working with them once again. The nose exudes lifted, floral aromas of sweet, ripe blackberries which overlay a hint of chargrilled meat. Waves of wild blueberries caress the palate with a touch of sage. The tannins, although plentiful, are extremely gentle. The wine is fresh but has an overriding sensation of softness, and all is underpinned by a long, concentrated blackberry finish. Drink now to 2023.

2020 Berry Bros. & Rudd New Zealand Pinot Noir by Greystone Wines
Our 2020 Pinot Noir is once again made specially for us by the excellent Greystone. This wine is full of rich, sour red cherry fruit mingling with sweet, fragrant red berries, and a herbal top-note of raspberry tea. The palate is as fine, fresh and elegant as ever, with fine tannins leaving a slight grip on the tongue. Notes of autumn leaves, toast and cured meat add complexity. The enticing finish is savoury, mineral and long.

2020 Berry Bros. & Rudd Australian Shiraz by Hewitson, Barossa Valley
We’ve once again worked with the wonderful Dean Hewitson to bring you this characterful Shiraz. The nose exhibits a warm depth of red-and-black bramble fruit, with a note of pure blackcurrant coulis. That rich black fruit continues on the palate, framed by an almost old-vine richness behind. This is a succulent, generous and rewarding wine which would make for a marvellous midweek pairing with sausages.

2019 Riesling, Bockstein, Grosses Gewächs, Van Volxem, Mosel, Germany
The Ockfen 2019 Bockstein Riesling GG opens with an intense, dense and elegant, flinty and slightly iron-scented bouquet that displays perfectly ripe and healthy, somewhat flinty Riesling fruit with lemon chutney notes. Intense, ripe and very elegant on the densely textured and a bit more creamy than crystalline palate, this is a full-bodied, lush and round yet very fine and sustainably salty and tensioned Bockstein. It has highly delicate tannins on the complex and sustainable finish that again shows generous, perfectly ripe Riesling fruit with lingering lemon juice notes. Tasted from AP 35 20 in March 2021.

2017 Riesling, Spätlese, Wiltinger Braune Kupp, Egon Müller, Mosel
The 2017 Wiltinger Braune Kupp Spätlese (AP #4) is coolish, pure and stony on the crunchy and concentrated nose. Lush, sweet and round on the palate, with piquant, racy acidity and pervasive minerality, this is a complex and intense, lush and concentrated Spätlese with a lingering salinity and a long, precise finish. A fabulous and promising Spätlese.

2019 Riesling, Kabinett, Wiltinger Braune Kupp , Le Gallais, Egon Müller, Mosel, Germany
Müller's 2019 Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Kabinett opens with a bright, ripe and finely slatey bouquet. Round and lush on the palate, this is a medium-bodied, mouth-filling, charming and balanced Kupp Kabinett with ripe, elegant, crystalline and salty acidity and fine grip on the aromatic, well-structured finish. The 2019 already drinks dangerously well as an aperitif, but it is made to be cellared and then served with food in about 15-20 years. 9.5% alcohol. Tasted from AP 2-20 in June 2020. - Wine Advocate

2019 Riesling, Trocken, Eva Fricke, Rheingau, Germany
This dry wine tingles with life and is somehow reminiscent of wild flowers. A great tightrope of tingly fruit and acidity that is nicely judged. And this is her entry-level bottling …
Jancis Robinson, 2020 festive recommendations Ewhites, Jancisrobinson.com & Financial Times (December 2020)This Riesling displays the elegance and purity that Eva’s wines consistently produce. The jasmine floral aromas are wonderfully supported by a peachy juiciness on the palate, while a citrus and nervy acidity provides the backbone to this delicious, fine, dry wine. This is a standout vintage for Eva, and although this wine is a treat to drink in its youth, it will certainly benefit from one or two years in bottle. Drink now to 2028.

2020 Riesling, Volz, Grosses Gewächs, Van Volxem, Mosel, Germany
The “Volz Ewas a single layer until 1971, which now forms part of the Wiltinger Braunfels. In the Prussian classification of vine locations in 1868, this vineyard, bordering the Scharzhofberg, was classified as a Grand Cru, in the privileged location class. The 60-year-old vines of this glorious slate slope create an exciting firework display of mineral expressiveness and the finest fruity elegance.

2019 Leeuwin Estate, Art Series Chardonnay, Margaret River, Australia
The 2019 Art Series Chardonnay is rich and savory but pure and saline too. There is white peach, red apples, curry leaf and brine. The way the flavor moves across the palate is testament to the phenolics that course through the wine; it’s all at a perfect intersect of fruit power, tannin and perfectly judged acidity. The flavor stains the palate and lingers in an unravelling spool of thread in the mouth long after the wine has gone. A stupendously good wine.

2016 Seña, Aconcagua Valley, Chile
The truly excellent 2016 Sea could very well be the finest wine produced at this estate that started as a joint venture between Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick and now continues under the guidance of Chadwick and the excellent hand of winemaker Francisco Pancho Baettig. The grapes were picked later in 2016, and the final blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Malbec, 12% Petit Verdot, 8% Carmenere and 5% Cabernet Franc, with more Malbec and considerably less Carmenere than in the past. This is only 13.5% alcohol and has remarkable acidity and freshness, as well as overall balance and elegance that surpasses all previous vintages. Twelve percent of the volume matured in oak foudres, while the rest was aged in barrique (73% new) for 22 months. Even so, the wine is not oaky and comes through as harmonious and elegant within the house style. It's serious, dry and elegant, with zero concessions to sweetness. A mineral and profound red blend. 72,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2018.

2020 Seña, Aconcagua Valley, Chile
Balanced, intense, raspberry, bilberry, balsamic, dill, tar, grilled cedar and sandalwood. Welcoming and confident, classic Seña swagger, the balance and savoury spice notes arrive if you allow it to sit in the glass. This was a hot and dry vintage, very little rain over the winter before the season began, and the main challenge throughout was water availability. There are wells at the Seña vineyard, and their location closer to the Pacific helps moderate tempatures, but they also picked one week earlier than 2019, and upped the Malbec in the blend because it kept freshness and acidity, and helped with the aromatics. The result is more powerful and opulent than recent vinages, with an emphasis on cocoa bean and dark mint chocolate on the finish. A wine of layers that absolutely delivers on the house style, not easy to maintain in such dry vintages. 10% 2,500l oak casks for ageing, with 70% new French oak, biodynamic farming. Francisco Baettig winemaker.

2019 Gantenbein, Pinot Noir, Switzerland
Pure, fresh and reductive on the nose, with red berry and fresh lemon aromas intertwined with flinty and spicy notes, the 2019 Pinot Noir is a full-bodied, pure, refined and intense, generously juicy and sustainable Pinot with beautiful tannins and very delicate mineral acidity.
The finish is very intense, sweet and sustainably salty. This vintage pairs the generosity of 2018 or 2012 with the tensioned, crystalline purity and finesse of 2016 and 2014. Impressive, especially in this context (2012 - 2020).

2021 Gantenbein, Chardonnay, Graubünden, Switzerland
The 2021 Chardonnay is deep, pure, clear and fresh on the nose that, is as slatey as chalky as well as floral and reveals a fine concentration of ripe fruits. Full-bodied, intense and elegant on the palate, this is a pure yet rich, concentrated, enormously saline and finely tannic Chardonnay with a long, intense, complex finish.
A great wine that already drinks with great pleasure but can also hold for about two decades. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork.

2016 Riesling Spätlese, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Jos Prüm, Mosel
The 2016 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Sptlese (AP 23 17) is still discreet, floral and finely mineral rather than fruity on the nose compared to the other 2016 Sptlesen. Lush, piquant and juicy on the palate, this is a firm but sensual Sonnenuhr with remarkable finesse, lightness and lingering salinity. Tasted March 2018.

2015 Almaviva, Maipo Valley, Chile
2015 was a dry and warm year, and the 2015 Almaviva shows ripe and voluptuous, with a full body and sweet fruit on the finish. The varietal breakdown is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Carmnre, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot; the high percentage of the Carmnre, a constant in warmer years, comes from Puente Alto and also Peumo, the classical zone for the grape in Cachapoal. The levage was in 82% new barriques and lasted 18 months. It's creamy and sleek, with polished tannins. It was a ripe and dry year, with higher yields than 2014, which is more concentrated; in 2015 the yields were a little higher with slightly larger grapes and bunches, and for winemaker Michel Friou, this results in better balance, with a ratio of skin to juice that is more balanced than in years when the grapes are smaller and might produce very tannic wines. However, the wines show very consistent in the last few years, always harmonious and combining power with elegance while showing the nuances from the year, which tend not to be huge. This has a little less alcohol than the 2014, and the day I tasted it, it showed more Cabernet Sauvignon personality. This is more approachable than the 2014. 180,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2017.
