2020 Goldberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs, Van Volxem, Mosel, Germany

The Goldberg almost appears sweet to start with, but that’s all down to a composition of ripe local and exotic fruit and not residual sugar. As the flavour opens up, nuances of quinine and a salty tang represent the mineral input. Subtle notions of herbal greens also add a cool and fresh dimension, but overall the ripe juicy fruit stays in charge of the flavour.
