Description
Shiraz from old, dry-grown vineyards is blended with Viognier here, drawing comparisons with the Northern Rhône’s Côte-Rotie. There’s a fabulous bouquet of rich, dark fruit and spice; the intriguing and beguiling nose draws you in. The palate is equally elegant: it’s rich and spicy, with great volume of linear, dark fruit, exotic spice and chocolate notes. This is beautifully balanced, with perfectly judged acidity and very fine tannins. It’s very impressive and dangerously easy to drink now, but capable of ageing for decades – a very fine wine. +.
