Description

In vintages like 2010, Château Chasse-Spleen really comes into its own. Notes of subtle black fruit and graphite on the nose lead onto a full, mouth-filling palate of blackberry fruit, minerals, and spice. As with many 2010s, this wine is elegant and refined yet has underlying power and definition. Pulling a couple of cases of this out of the cellar in 5-10 years would be a real treat.

Chris Pollington, Senior Account Manager, Berry Bros. & Rudd

Château Chasse-Spleen Moulis is a property on the move; the 2008-2010 are three amazing vintages. The 2010 has lovely, juicy black cherries with a touch of strawberry jam on the nose. The wine has great power in the middle with intense crunchy fresh fruits, a very well-balanced finish, and well-integrated tannins. Tip top!

Jancis Robinson MW 16/20

Chateau Chasse-Spleen 2010 Moulis is dense and blackish. Creamy texture but an odd aroma. Something reminiscent of soap and perhaps some unusual oak? Pretty ripe and luscious though. If this is the quality that can be achieved in a lesser classed growth, this is a very special vintage. Just a bit drying and short on the finish.

A beautiful effort from Chasse-Spleen, this dense purple wine exhibits plenty of black currant and black cherry fruit with some licorice, roasted herbs and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied and supple, the final blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot has produced a fleshy, succulent style of Chasse-Spleen to drink over the next 15+ years.
