2009 Champagne Jestin, Brut Nature

Sunny, clear gold, tiny foaming mousse. The nose is expansive, deep & incredible inviting. Orchard fruit, yellow plum, green apple with exotic spice and floral detail, ginger, saffron jasmine and camomile. The palate is fine, complex and captivating. Tight, golden and bright. So young! A fine grain spice seasons the palate, from 10 months in Allier oak barrel which gives a frame, yet the palate is defined by the crystalline edges and vibrant energy. Gentle yet serious, gorgeous fruit yet austere in minerality and tension.

This is a wine of great intellect and expression and defines much of uniform, open knit 2009 vintage character. It is young with a huge aging potential. Earthy richness and vivid saline pithy purity, a long golden mousse. Utterly divine.
