Description
Perrières needs no introduction—it is Meursault’s greatest vineyard, and this 2002 from Ampeau shows it at a glorious stage of evolution. Candied citrus, hazelnut, lanolin and gunflint glide across a palate that is both structured and silky. This is truly grand cru in all but name: rare, thrilling, and impeccably mature. The balance between richness and tension is spot on, and the finish is long, mineral and refined. A textbook expression of the Perrières terroir, this is drinking beautifully now but has plenty of life ahead.
