2023 The Sadie Family Wines Kokerboom Die Distriksreeks Olifants River

This is an astonishing wine: a glorious Semillon that really delivers on every point. White flowers and citrus-driven on the nose, with a hint of white pepper spice in the background. As you’d expect, this has all of the typical Semillon hallmarks on the palate: rich and oily, with a refreshing mineral backbone keeping everything in check and in balance. There is real depth and power here, and the wine has a wonderful texture and full-bodied mouthfeel. Incredibly long on the finish, further demonstrating the craftsmanship that goes into this. Will age well for decades – if you can wait that long! Drink 2025-2040+.
