2001 Château Palmer, Margaux, Bordeaux

This wine has a beautiful perfume of primary woodland black and red fruits, its seductive aroma of polished Bordeaux just emerging from its shell. Cool and composed on the palate there's a beguiling sweetness too that is so typical of Margaux, and indeed Ch. Palmer itself. This wine is elegance and precision personified. Decant for an hour before serving at 17 to 19 degrees, which will help to preserve its lovely freshness.
